[Question]: What are the criteria for choosing a tatami platform?

[Answer]: The most common materials used for tatami platforms are wooden boards and solid wood finger-jointed boards. The choice of material depends on your budget. Many customers prefer a high-quality look on the visible side—this usually refers to the glossy surface of the wood. On the backside, which is typically covered, high-quality and environmentally friendly materials like large-core boards are used. This helps keep costs under control while meeting environmental standards and showcasing the natural beauty of solid wood grain.

[Question]: Which model should I choose for the tatami lift?

[Answer]: There are three main types of tatami lifts: 310, 250, and 210 models. The lifting mechanisms can be either manual or electric. In terms of appearance, they come in two styles: aluminum alloy and wood frame with an aluminum alloy finish. Wood frames are available in two colors—light wood and walnut brown.

The most commonly used models are the 310 and 250 lifts. The 310 model is suitable for platforms between 36 cm and 40 cm in height, while the 250 model works best for platforms between 31 cm and 34 cm.

Manual lifts require some effort to operate, as you have to manually lift the platform, while electric lifts are much more convenient. It’s recommended to go with an electric lift if possible, though it comes at a higher cost. A manual lift typically costs between 1,500 to 2,000 yuan, while an electric one ranges from 3,000 to 3,500 yuan. Prices may vary depending on size, material quality, and regional differences.

Key Tip 1: Platforms lower than 30 cm are generally not suitable for storage. However, platforms that are 30 cm or higher can be used for storage purposes.

Key Tip 2: For platforms below 15 cm, a "well" structure made of 3x4 wooden beams is often used. The top is then covered with wooden boards or solid wood panels, and the tatami is placed directly on top.
