Track and field site cement concrete pouring method

Concrete structures on track and field facilities are typically small in scale and spread out across the site. Before pouring concrete, it's essential to ensure that the construction area is well-prepared. This includes maintaining clear access roads, ensuring a reliable power supply, installing proper electrical systems, and having all necessary vibration equipment ready on-site.

Track and Field Area

When transporting concrete, it should be done using tightly sealed vehicles, ideally with mixing trucks to maintain consistency. When pouring into molds, start from the lowest point—such as the bottom of an obstacle pool for a 3000m running track—and pour in layers. The first layer should not exceed 40 cm in height. After pouring, use internal vibrators to compact the concrete. The distance between vibrators should not exceed 1.5 times their working radius. Be careful not to hit the side forms or let the rebar come into contact with them. Maintain a distance of 50 to 100 mm between the vibrator and the formwork. Insert the vibrator into the lower layer by 50–100 mm. When removing the vibrator, do so slowly to avoid creating voids in the concrete. Each section must be fully vibrated until the surface becomes smooth, no more sinking is observed, and air bubbles have been released. It's important to avoid leaving the vibrator in one spot for too long, as this can cause separation of the mortar and aggregates inside the concrete.

After pouring, the concrete must be properly cured to prevent cracking caused by temperature changes, wind, and direct sunlight. Timely maintenance is crucial for ensuring the strength and durability of the structure.

At the same time, a dedicated staff member should be present during the pouring process to monitor the concrete quality and address any issues that may arise. This ensures that the work meets the required standards and minimizes the risk of defects or structural problems later on.
