The research team constructed a vapor-liquid interface discharge plasma device to oxidize organic pollutants that are difficult to degrade. The cyanobacterial toxin MC-LR was used as the research object, using high-performance liquid chromatography (detecting the absorption peak of MC-LR at 238nm) combined with mass spectrometry. , Analyze the degradation efficiency and degradation products, and discuss the degradation mechanism.

The experimental results show that hydroxyl radicals undergo a hydroxylation reaction of the toxin molecule through the addition and substitution of the double bond position in the cyanobacterial toxin molecule, and further undergo a ketylation and decarboxylation reaction to open-loop and degrade the toxin molecule, thus clarifying the cyanobacteria The degradation mechanism of toxins. In order to apply this technology to actual sewage treatment, they further investigated the effects of total nitrogen, total phosphorus and humic acid on the degradation efficiency of the water body, and detected the degradation efficiency of cyanobacterial toxins in the actual cyanobacterial blooms of Chaohu Lake. In addition, they also confirmed the ecological safety of the method using the model organism Caenorhabditis elegans.

The research results provide a basis and basis for new technologies and methods of plasma water treatment.
