The errors in the traditional printing and binding mass production process are not much, but due to the uncontrollable factors such as environmental temperature and humidity, printing and binding machinery, and paper stretching. Exist, this production error is inevitable.
In this regard, we need to consider the design of the book, leaving a certain offset. For example, the amount of bleeding in the common layout should be controlled at 3mm to avoid whitening after binding. If it is required to have complete characters, images, shading, lace and other elements in the layout, it should be at least 3~5mm away from the incision to avoid clipping when the deviation occurs due to uncontrollable factors during folding or cutting. .
In the production process, try to use interactive typesetting software with double-page layout function, such as Founder Feiteng, Founder Feixiang, Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, etc., in the typesetting should set the bleeding prompt line, character security line and warning frame line. When making a perfect double-page docking map, the image should also be processed separately, leaving a milling back. When using the textbook software such as Founder Book and Office, it is not convenient to set the double-page layout or prompt line. It is necessary to pre-consider the corresponding offset and check more. When outputting the proofreading, you should bring the page frame. The line, the finished cutting line and the core line are easy to proofread and display the effect of the book, and then deleted when the plate is made.
Font problem
At present, there are many commonly used font manufacturers, such as Founder, Hanyi, Handing, Huawen, etc., and new fonts are constantly appearing. The font coding standard is more numerous, such as GB2312, Founder's 748, Windows GBK, GB18030-2000 and GB18030-2005 font encoding. Among them, the GB2312 character capacity is only 6763 Chinese characters, while the Founder 748 font contains 16144 Chinese characters, GBK contains 220912 Chinese characters, GB18030-2000 contains 27533 Chinese characters, and GB18030-2005 contains 70,244 Chinese characters. A large number of free fonts on the Internet use the GB2312 standard, which is easy to cause normal display during front-end layout and cannot output or output errors during back-end production.
To avoid this, you should package the font file or rotate the text when you output the PS or PDF file through the layout software. Similar functions are available in software such as Founder Book, Founder Feiteng, Founder Feixiang, Adobe InDesign, and CorelDRAW. If some of the Chinese characters in the printed file do not have a corresponding font, you can replace the similar font in the backend flow. At present, the common Changliu and Prinergy processes have corresponding setting options. The operator can establish a suitable font replacement correspondence table according to experience, and replace the used fonts or similar fonts in multiple times, and in the printing process. Strengthen inspections.
Image problem
Common image problems currently appear in image mode and color overprinting.
Today, office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are developing rapidly and have a high penetration rate. Using these software can also discharge very complicated and beautiful layouts, but the color mode used is often RGB, while the color mode used in traditional printing is For CMYK, the gamut of the two is quite different, which requires color mode conversion before plate making. If the pre-press process has a color conversion function, you need to make the corresponding settings; if not, you need to add a conversion plug-in, and then make the corresponding settings.
In addition, when making the overprint effect, pay attention to the black version of the hollowing out problem. In the production, set the corresponding parameters for different effects, and pass the relevant setting instructions to the output center, so as to make corresponding settings in the output system to avoid display. Inconsistent with the printing effect.
The traditional printing prepress typesetting work has certain professionalism. When conditions permit, try to use the standard typesetting system and accept the professional printing and typesetting guidance, which greatly avoids the errors that may occur in the subsequent printing production.
