ROTOMEC Introduces New Gravure Press: RS 4003 MP

ROTOMEC, a subsidiary of BOBST, has recently introduced a multi-function printer for soft material printing, the RS 4003 MP. From November 9th to November 11th, a new machine was exhibited at the ROTOMEC Technical Center adjacent to the ROTOMEC San Giorgio Monferrato factory for a period of 3 days. In terms of gravure performance and profitability, the RS 4003 MP is exemplary. This machine achieves high performance, low cost, meets the requirements of the market, and is suitable for medium and mass production of high quality printed flexible packaging.

The RS 4003 MP demonstrated its superior performance, technology and superior print quality to packaging and printing experts from 16 countries around the world in a three-day trial run. Like all ROTOMEC gravure presses, the RS 4003 MP models have a certified ROTOMEC Electrical Linkage (ES) system, while the High Dynamic Interface (HDI) also incorporates the BOBST S 5100 Register Control System. The system was recently developed and completed by ROTOMEC, which achieved a breakthrough in the reduction of waste and profits of gravure printing machines. The combination of register and print control is achieved at a speed of 12 megabytes per second through the communication interface, which can increase the speed of register alignment by a factor of five, especially during machine acceleration and deceleration. Its automatic pre-register setting (TAPS) uses independent register marks and workflow re-call devices, which greatly improves the efficiency of preparation. The RS 4003 MP has a width range of 850 - 1250 - 1500 mm, a print roller circumference of 400-920 mm and a speed of 350 m/min.
