1. Missing print
In the calendering section of the paper machine, it is relatively common for the paper to appear shredded due to broken ends. These pieces of shredded paper should be removed during rewinding and slitting. If there is a piece of shredded paper caught in the paper, it will cause missed printing and failure during printing. Paper mills often don't pay much attention to the problem of one or two pieces of shredded paper in the paper, thinking that there is no big impact. In fact, shredded paper will cause great trouble and great economic losses to printing. When printing on roll paper or flat paper, if there are shredded paper pieces, these shredded paper pieces will adhere to the paper surface and enter the printing machine. The printing pressure and the viscosity of the ink will make the shredded paper pieces stick to the rubber cylinder Or layout. In this way, the text and images on the printing plate cannot be transferred to the paper, so that the printed matter forms a missing print (commonly known as opening the window). On high-speed printing machines, once this happens, it will make dozens or even hundreds of printed products into waste products, and peeling the shredded paper from the rubber roller or the plate needs to be stopped, so the loss is even greater.
2. The impression cylinder and printed matter are contaminated
This contamination is often caused by holes and folds in the paper.
A hole refers to a small hole that can be seen through the paper surface under the light. The big holes are called holes. Paper with holes will have quality problems when printing. When there are large holes or holes in the paper, the ink on the printing plate or rubber cylinder is transferred from the hole to the impression cylinder, so that the impression cylinder continuously transfers the ink to the other side of the printed matter while continuing to rotate, causing Pollution damage to printed matter. When the ink is transferred to the impression cylinder, if the ink viscosity is high, the paper will be bonded on both sides and torn off. The torn paper sticks to the rubber cylinder or plate, and the printing failure caused by the shredded paper can also occur.
Chamfering means that one corner of the printing paper is folded back, and the cornering can also cause serious printing problems. Chamfers can be divided into dead and live corners. When printing on paper with folded corners, one piece of the printed matter printed on the piece of paper cannot be printed, and one piece has an image printed on the back. In addition, the ink at the corners will also be transferred to the impression cylinder, causing the impression cylinder to continuously contaminate the back of the printed matter, resulting in many waste products. Even more serious is that, if the paper is thicker and harder, the corners may damage the blanket, forcing the machine to be changed.
