China's first active space science experiment succeeds

At 5:55 a.m. on April 5, 2013, the vertical exploration of space environment in China and the first active experiment in space science were a complete success in the Hainan Sounding Department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Danzhou, Hainan Province. The success of this experiment will provide in-situ detection data for studying the vertical distribution of the main physical parameters of the space environment at different heights, conduct research on the vertical distribution characteristics of the low-latitude space environment, and calibrate the ground-based remote sensing observation equipment. At the same time, the sounding rocket released metal barium powder in the ionosphere near the height of 200 kilometers, forming a barium cloud. By observing the evolution of the barium cloud, the dynamic characteristics of the ionosphere near the equatorial region can be studied. This experiment is also the first active space science experiment in China.

According to Wu Ji, the chief commander of the experiment and director of the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, this space science experiment is another rocket sounding experiment carried out in the Hainan Sounding Department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences after the national acceptance of the major scientific and technological infrastructure construction meridian project has been completed . The rocket's flight height is 191 kilometers, and it takes about 8 minutes from take-off to splash-off. The radiosonde is equipped with three scientific detection instruments, including a Langmuir probe that detects the vertical distribution of electrons and ions; a space electric field instrument that detects the vertical distribution of space electric fields; and a metal barium release device that studies the dynamic characteristics of the ionosphere. The electron and ion probe and space electric field instrument are turned on during the flight, and the metal barium releaser is activated near the apex of the rocket flight, releasing 1 kg of metal barium powder into the space. The metal barium is quickly ionized under the sunlight, forming a blue ion barium cloud and a green neutral barium cloud. At the same time, the three optical observatories on the ground took photos and videos of the barium cloud, recording the process of its diffusion, drift and evolution, and through this dynamic process, inversion of the ionospheric movement at the corresponding height. Such space science experiments are called active experiments.

The launch vehicle for this experimental mission, the Tianying 3E rocket, was developed by the Aerospace Power Technology Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation. The Kunpeng-1 radiosonde was jointly developed by the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Xi’an Institute of Optics and Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the University of Graz, Austria. System tasks.

The Hainan Sounding Department of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was established in 1986, and its capabilities have been comprehensively improved during the construction of the national major scientific and technological infrastructure meridian project. In addition to its sounding rocket launch capability, it also has nearly ten kinds of space environment-based comprehensive observation equipment. The geographical position of the equator has outstanding observation advantages internationally, and it is also an important window for international cooperation in the field of space environment and space weather detection in China.

Kingstar's Wire Management can management of electrical or optical cable in a cabinet or an installation.  Cables can easily become tangled, making them difficult to work with, sometimes resulting in devices accidentally becoming unplugged as one attempts to move a cable. Such cases are known as "cable spaghetti", any kind of problem diagnosis and future updates to such enclosures could be very difficult.

Cable management both supports and contains cables during installation, and makes subsequent maintenance or changes to the cable system easier.
