We Raised $17,251 to Help Fight Breast Cancer!

Hi everyone, I hope this message finds you well. If you've been following our blog, you'll know that last month, on February 13th, we organized an incredible benefit dinner dance to support the Ottawa Hospital Breast Health Centre. Our primary objective was to raise $10,000 for a new biopsy chair, which plays a crucial role in detecting cancer cells early. Early detection significantly improves the chances of successful treatment. We're thrilled to announce that thanks to the amazing generosity of people like you, we exceeded our initial goal! The total amount raised came to $17,251, which includes both your direct donations and the proceeds from the Valentine's Dinner Dance held at St. Anthony's Banquet Hall. The additional funds will go toward purchasing other essential equipment the Breast Health Centre urgently needs. Hospitals always require financial support to upgrade their facilities and tools, so every penny counts. While we celebrate this achievement, it's important to remember that the fight against all types of cancer continues. There's still much work to be done, and your ongoing support is invaluable. A group of us—myself included, along with Frank, Ken, and Enzo—decided to shave our heads as part of our commitment to raising awareness and funds for this cause. We're all members of the Sons of Carpineto Romano, a close-knit community dedicated to giving back whenever possible. For more details about our mission and this event, check out our previous blog post. Here are some candid shots from the evening: Before the transformation: ![Before](alt="before" width="615" height="410") The transformation in progress: ![Shaving](alt="four buddies having their heads shaved for cancer benefit" width="615" height="410") After the shave: ![After](alt="Giuseppe Castrucci head shaving" width="615" height="410") Needless to say, we had an absolute blast dancing the night away together: ![Dancing](alt="dancing at the cancer benefit" width="610" height="410") A huge thank you goes out to everyone who participated, donated, or volunteered their time to make the evening such a resounding success. Special thanks also go to St. Anthony's Banquet Hall for hosting us in such a beautiful setting.
