Screen Proofing Apple LCD Screen (below)

Active matrix digital displays are not physically constrained by the beam scan screen. Physically, the pixels are independent of each Other, and there is an electronic switch that is independently turned on or off. The black pixels can be adjacent to the white pixels without difficulty, and this results in an incredibly clear display.
For CRT displays, the electron beam is emitted from the center of the cathode ray tube, so at the edge of the screen, it will strike the phosphor at a significant angle instead of directly. The spot of the electron beam will be slightly elliptical rather than circular, causing unavoidable sharpness problems at the edges of the CRT screen. In a wide-screen CRT display, this problem is even more serious because the electron beam must be deflected to a larger angle to reach the screen corner position. In contrast, LCD displays do not strike the beam at the screen at an angle, so there is no problem with any geometry. The pixels on the edge of the LCD are as clear as the pixels in the center.
2. Non-dithering As we all know, long-time jittery monitors can cause eye strain and cause headaches. CRT monitors with higher refresh rates have reduced image jitter as much as possible. However, LCD displays have an inherent advantage in this regard: they do not have a fast "refresh" beam of electrons on the screen, and each pixel in the LCD is independently turned on and off when needed.
3. Low energy consumption When selecting a monitor for a computer, visual quality is important, but the cost of ownership is also an important factor. Since the LCD display consumes only 1/3 of the power of the CRT display, the use of the TFT active matrix LCD can save a lot of electricity. This is very useful for designing mass production environments in the printing industry.
4. Wide viewing angle technology The core of the extraordinary color quality provided by Apple Computer's liquid crystal display (which is different from other LCDs) is the technology used to extend wide viewing angles. Without this technique, colors can deviate in color, contrast, and gamma. In a wide-screen 16:9 display, there is no consistency in the color deviation, which is also the leading position in the Apple Cinema Display series. The so-called wide-vision technology of other LCD manufacturers may cause color deviations in the same color at the center and corners of a wide screen. Apple Computer LCD screens use the industry's best technology to minimize wide-angle color deviations. LCD monitors using other visual technologies cannot achieve the minimum color deviation performance of Apple Computer's LCD screens.
5. Pixel response time For print design professionals, a clear enough picture or three-dimensional graphics rendering capability, it is very important to be able to watch the details. Apple Computer's LCD screen meets these requirements. LCD manufacturers use pixel response time to define this capability. However, this specification does not indicate all. Although the fast pixel response time of the black and white transition is very important, the response time of the midtone transition is equally important. It is not enough to just gauge the black and white transition. Apple Computer's LCD display is designed to provide fast pixel response throughout the entire spectrum, allowing it to embody well-changed detail in multi-tone images.
6. Digital Connections Apple Computers maximize the sharpness of flat-panel displays by driving flat panel displays using purely digital signals. The CRT monitor uses an analog interface (usually VGA) to create an analog signal from the digital data in the video memory. This conversion will inevitably reduce the image quality on the screen to some extent. This drop in image quality can take many forms, including shadowing (image edges are blurred), color misalignment, vertical and/or horizontal misalignment of the viewing area, vertical or horizontal misalignment, and brightness and contrast issues. Especially when using higher resolution or using longer display cables, the conversion problem will become more serious. The pure digital connection of the PowerMac G4 computer to the liquid crystal display ensures maximum visual quality.
7. The perfect design In addition to providing excellent visual performance, Apple Computer's LCD display is also designed as a desktop artwork. When you see the Apple LCD screen, you will notice that the crystal case makes the monitor look like it floats on the desktop. This not only makes the appearance of the display more attractive, but also makes it easier for the user's eyes to focus on the screen. In addition, the jewel color is also carefully selected, which minimizes interference with the colors on the screen and provides a suitable environment for viewing colors.
8. Integration For many PC manufacturers, the display is a peripheral device. For Apple, the monitor is designed as an integrated part of a complete Macintosh system. Apple Computer has created a flexible and easy system that can transfer all video, USB, and power signals from the computer to the monitor through a simple and quick plug-in cable.
