After collation, each signature is linked into a book block using a wireless glue binding method. To increase the fastness of the book block, attach gauze and paper jams, as shown in Figure 4-13. In this way, both bound paperback books and bound books can be bound.

The hot-spot glue binding method for plastic lines is a new binding process developed after the wireless glue binding. In addition to the addition of the plastic thread binding and ironing device during the folding process of the folding machine to make it a lined book, the bookbinding process and the wireless binding process are basically the same. The feature of the plastic line hot-stamping process is that the signature in the book block is adhered twice, and the first bonding function is to make the binding of the plastic line and the signature of the paper, so that the pages in the signature can be fixed. . The role of the second bond is to use glue binding to bind the hot-sketched signature of the plastic thread into the book block. Because the book block made up of the hot-supplied signatures of the plastic thread, the transverse adhesive length of each of the posts is about 1 mm after being glued, and the posts of the wireless glue are single-shaped after milling, and the glued paper The edge of the horizontal bond length of only about 0.05mm, so the use of plastic lines for hot binding glue binding book block is more secure, as shown in Figure 4-13. In addition, when binding paperback books, hot-swapping using plastic lines can be done without milling backs, reducing the influence of gum. When binding hardcover books, the plastic line hot-stabbing can use saddle-stitched bookbinding to replace the sewing thread, which solves the problem of hard-to-solve binding pages, lock lines, and book block processing, and a series of binding operations. The plastic line is hot-strapped to make books and books easy to read, and has the same advantages as the sewing thread. The whole book can be open and flat.

Experiences in many countries have shown that the hot-stamping method for plastics is applicable to papers of various thicknesses, but advanced smoother coated papers with higher smoothness are harder to compact than ordinary calendered coated papers. Bonding fastness is also slightly worse.

In the 70s of this century, China developed a plastic line ironing machine. At that time, due to the low quality of glue used for binding, the issue of replacing the wireless glue binding method and solving the problem of low fastness of the wireless glue was not certain.
