Royal Special Forces Training Manual (Chapter 7)

Mobile Link

Motorized vehicles are mainly used

Related to the ground maneuver of the special air mission. It is in close contact with the ground within the special service. The mobile link was born in 1940 in the use of tactics for vehicles in desert operations in North Africa. The Gulf War witnessed once again the use of heavy armored vehicles by special forces in desert operations, although its successful influence was far less than that of the Second World War.

However, special air traffic missions still rely on vehicles to intervene. As a mobile tool, the Secret Service thinks it will be an expert in all areas of motorized combat. Obviously, motorized forces need to skillfully drive vehicles, including offensive and defensive driving of vehicles, multiple vehicle attack modes, weapons deployment, and so on. Far away from friendly neighbors, motorized troops need their own mechanics. All cavalrymen have to spend time with the soldiers to learn techniques from the royal engineers in order to obtain fault analysis and efficient maintenance.

Similarly, weapons-equipped vehicles also require these technologies. In most cases, the average vehicle is equipped with a general machine gun or a Brenner machine gun, but these can be replaced with other weapons, such as the MK19 automatic grenade launcher or the Milan anti-tank weapon system. Using these systems on a high-speed motion platform requires different tactical considerations. Placing the vehicle in an offensive position is a problem. Because vehicles are not as easily accessible as soldiers. As a result, maneuvering soldiers must learn camouflage to get the best position from the attacking vehicle. This means changing map interpretation and driving directions, as well as mastering complex technical issues such as driving at night. The training plan also includes testing what soldiers have learned in different environments, from the deserts of the Middle East to the wilderness of the United States.

The mobile company must skillfully drive a vehicle such as a land roamer. In 1950, land rovers took the place of the American Willys jeep and became the standard for special air traffic missions. Its performance also has legendary colors: strong, all-weather, suitable for a variety of terrain, excellent traction, powerful braking, the engine has a good mechanical properties, strong loading capacity. It is used by explorers and soldiers around the world. Special air missions have used many versions of land rovers. Now the equipment is using land rovers defender 90 (short wheelbase) and land rovers 110 (long wheelbase). Also commonly used is the Land Rover 130, an extended wheelbase that is particularly suitable for ambulance missions. The most famous land rover that the special aircrews customized is called the "pink leopard" and is the most suitable color for desert camouflage. In addition to color, special air missions added smoke shields to the car and spare tires on the front bumper.

Another style of Land Rover Special Vehicle (SOV) will be delivered soon. In fact, it is a model of a light attack vehicle (LSV) between a land roamer and another special service vehicle. The LSV is actually a desert short-haul vehicle, very light and highly automated, with only a few frames. But the engine is powerful, durable suspension and heavy equipment. The selection of weapons is also varied, and may include a 0.5-inch GAU-19 multi-barrel machine gun, a 40-mm M19 grenade launcher, a Milan anti-tank missile, a FIM-92 stinger surface-to-air missile, and an 81-mm mortar. Like Willis Jeep, LSV is mainly used for reconnaissance and fast offensive operations. Together with the U.S. Special Forces, the special air traffic mission put LSV into the Gulf War. There, the limitations of LSV are obvious. It's small in size and limited in oil, so the combat distance is limited (except for air transportation can be arranged). Its ability to destroy has not been demonstrated due to a large number of mechanical problems, and it has hampered combat operations.

The SOV will use the reliability of land rovers to increase the LSV's firepower. Weapon systems include 7.62 mm machine guns, light anti-tank weapons, Milan or "Tao" anti-tank missiles, 51 mm or 81 mm mortars, and 2 MK19 grenade launchers. With a combat radius of 784 kilometers, SOV can better compensate for the legacy of LSV.

The Land Rover Series vehicles are just one of the tools that can be used to carry out motorized transportation. Others include trucks, standard British Royal Army armored personnel carriers and many other types of small to medium-sized vehicles that must be mastered. This kind of maneuvering can give the special service group an overall combat maneuver and give it a hand.

The cruel and chilling training section of the special air crew. The missing persons in the sea are higher than other places.
