The Japan Food Circulation System Association developed a new fresh-keeping packaging carton that uses a silicate called “Ristoval” as an additive for pulp. This kind of stone powder has a good absorption effect on various gases. It is inexpensive and does not require low-temperature and high-cost equipment. It has a long-term preservation effect and the weight of fresh fruits and vegetables will not be reduced.
