Properties: This is a white to off-white powder or granular substance. It softens and begins to decompose at around 200°C. The material exhibits different viscosities and properties depending on the degree of acetylation. It is highly soluble in water but insoluble in petroleum-based solvents.
Physical characteristics include a density ranging from 1.27 to 1.31 and a refractive index between 1.49 and 1.53. Its flash point is 392°C, and it melts at approximately 200°C.
