Rice Crispie Cakes

We absolutely love making rice crispy cakes—they’re such a fun and easy project, especially when you’ve got little ones running around. They’re fantastic for young kids because it doesn’t really matter if they sneak a bite of the mixture before it’s fully set. Plus, they’re incredibly quick to whip up—toddlers, in particular, don’t have much patience for waiting around for something to bake. The best part? You can let them dig in right away, even before they’ve had time to chill in the fridge. Honestly, it’s a huge plus! We usually make these during Easter; over time, they’ve sort of become a family tradition. There’s something so charming about shaping them into little nests, and it’s a great way to use up any leftover chocolate lying around. This is our favorite Easter nests recipe, made with marshmallows. Surprisingly, these turned out even sweeter than usual! What I love most is how simple the ingredients are: cereal, golden syrup, sugar, and butter. You can easily whip up a batch using what you already have at home. Some people prefer to use cornflakes instead of Rice Krispies—either way works perfectly. Here’s the recipe: - 6oz (180g) Rice Krispies - 8 tsps (140g) golden syrup - 2 tsp (30g) sugar - 2 tsp (30g) butter First, melt the butter, golden syrup, and sugar together. Then stir in the Rice Krispies until everything is evenly coated. Divide the mixture into cupcake cases and pop them into the fridge for at least 30 minutes to set. ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/59aa9f5c36a04a323252d02b0010aeee.jpg) Once they were done, my daughters insisted on giving them a girly touch by adding a bit of pink icing and finishing them off with some chocolate stars. They looked super cute and were a big hit with the girls! ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/8e6a265587a7b526a7f8fbd75a63a879.jpg) For dessert, the girls also requested hot chocolate. Ever since they watched *The Polar Express*, this has been their absolute favorite treat. While I’m making it, they like to dance and sing along to the movie’s iconic song. Of course, no hot chocolate is complete without an extra dollop of sugar and a sprinkle of chocolate stars. Yum! ![](http://bsg-i.nbxc.com/blog/1a9983503511c45eda00a4266a1f2e3a.jpg) I hope you enjoy trying this recipe—it’s a great way to spend quality time with your family while creating something delicious. Let me know how it turns out for you! *Disclosure: This is a sponsored post.*
