Easy Homemade Lego Coasters

During the summer holidays, my oldest daughter decided to take on a big project: building the Hogwarts castle entirely out of LEGO. It was quite an ambitious undertaking that took several days, along with plenty of breaks for snacks and drinks to keep us going. While assisting her, I accidentally placed my tea on one of the base blocks. Surprisingly, it served as a fantastic coaster until my daughter needed the piece, and that moment made me realize we could create some LEGO-themed coasters using Sticky Brick Tape. This DIY project is incredibly straightforward. All you’ll need are some old coasters, Sticky Brick Tape, and a pair of scissors. The coasters I used were still in decent condition, but I wasn't fond of the design anymore. With this method, you can create any pattern you desire, but it’s essential to measure the tape accurately and plan accordingly to ensure it fits perfectly. Although I managed to create a few simple block patterns, I wasn’t completely satisfied with how neat the edges turned out. Next time, I’d invest more time into planning for better results. We kept things simple by sticking to basic block designs, but you could get creative and experiment with more intricate patterns if you're feeling adventurous. The Sticky Brick Tape is easy to cut and features a peel-off backing that reveals the adhesive, making this activity accessible for people of all ages. It could even serve as a thoughtful gift for a LEGO enthusiast. You could personalize the coasters with mini figures tailored to the recipient's interests. Naturally, our coasters were personalized with Harry Potter-themed figures. These coasters are ideal for setting down your drink while you’re engrossed in building your next LEGO masterpiece. Overall, this project was both fun and functional. It reminded me of the endless possibilities when combining creativity with everyday items. Plus, it gave me an excuse to bond with my daughter over a shared hobby. If you're looking for a simple yet engaging craft idea, this is definitely worth trying!
