Large size high-precision DLP 3D printer MoonRay is available

This is no secret, Kickstarter has become the best platform for many small and medium 3D printing companies to release new products. Not so long ago, TIKO, an unknown company, raised nearly $3 million in Kickstarter with its well-designed Unibody 3D printer and sold more than 10,000 3D printers.

Now, there seems to be a new 3D printer on Kiackstarter that could become a big hit. The product has raised over 50,000 US dollars in just a few hours, and its fund-raising goal is only 100,000 US dollars.

This product is the Moon Ray UV DLP 3D printer that SprintRay landed on Kickstarter on April 28, 2015 (US time). The 3D printer uses Digital Light Processing Technology (DLP) to provide higher resolution than other desktop SLA 3D printers.

The MoonRay also includes a custom UV DLP projector designed for 50,000 consecutive 3D prints, with a maximum print size of 5 x 3.2 x 9 inches (approximately 12.7 x 8.1 x 22.9 cm) for DLP. For a 3D printer, this print size is quite large. With a print resolution of 100 microns, the print layer thickness can be reduced to 20 microns.

The target users of this 3D printer are portrait designers, industrial designers, professionals in the field of medical research, and jewelers. They provide precise 3D printing for various professional applications, and strive to minimize the post-processing required after printing.

MoonRay's elegant appearance also makes it ideal for use on the desktop. The development team strives to make it the quietest and coolest 3D printer in product design. Its stylish black and white color scheme is also very different from other desktop devices. The fine workmanship enables it to stand the test of time.

“It does not include any consumables or hinges, and we have reduced the number of unnecessary moving parts during the 3D printing process,” said Hossein Bassir, chief design officer at MoonRay. "MoonRay's automatic generation support feature makes 3D printing easier to use than ever before."

In addition to the impressive print size and high-resolution print quality, MoonRay's price is also very competitive. Kickstarter’s early supporters will receive a discounted price of $2,499, and the company promises to guarantee delivery within eight months of the end of the crowdfunding campaign. After the crowdfunding is over, the retail price of the MoonRay UV DLP 3D printer is expected to be $3,500.
